1975 Star Trek con footage

In 1975, a Chicago Star Trek convention drew 14,000 fans, including a man named Richard Portnoy who shot this 8mm footage of the actors as they were introduced at opening ceremonies. (Hat tip to Isaac Alexander.)


Comic-Con explores its options

With its current contract with the San Diego Convention Center ending in 2012, Comic-Con has been looking over its options for the next few years. The San Diego Union-Tribune has details on the offer it’s considering from Anaheim. (Hat tip to John Mansfield.)
