Lou Ferrigno to Hulk-Out at Phoenix Comicon

By Shawn Scott Smith| May 5, 2010 | Comments Off

Lou Ferrigno, the actor best known for his portrayal of the Incredible Hulk in the 70’s & 80’s television series The Incredible Hulk, has committed to attend the Phoenix Comicon.

“The kids can’t get enough of Lou Ferrigno lately; he’s had a massive resurgence,” said Marketing Director Anabel Martinez. Though Lou Ferrigno was very popular for playing the Hulk in the series, today he is more famous for being himself, especially on the television show The King of Queens and in the movie I Love You, Man.
Born and raised in New York, Ferrigno started weightlifting at the age of thirteen. After placing in a number of bodybuilding competitions, he was cast as the role of David Banner’s angry alter ego, The Incredible Hulk, in a popular television series and subsequent movies.
“I always think it’s fantastic somebody that strong can be that nice of a guy and have fun with the role he’s best known for,” said Convention Director Matt Solberg.
More info can be found at Phoenix Comicon’s website, http://www.phoenixcomicon.com.
Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture event of the southwest, presenting guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, tv, and gaming industries. Entering its ninth year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees to its May 27-30, 2010 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency, downtown Phoenix.
