This Year’s C2E2 to Move Significantly Beyond Comics … Entertainment and Other Pop Culture Phenomena Will Be Prominently Featured!

Norwalk, CT, November 23, 2010: Ghost Hunters will have a major presence at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) this year as show organizers plan to expand the presence of entertainment guests at the show. C2E2 is produced by ReedPOP, the organizers of the New York Comic Con, which is the second largest pop culture event in the country and which includes all aspects of pop culture including comics, movies, general entertainment, video games, books, fashion, and music. Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, which was successfully launched last year in Chicago to serve the Midwest community, will evolve and grow this year and will take on even more of the characteristics of the New York Comic Con. This includes an ambitious program to expand the entertainment portion of the show. C2E2 will be held this year March 18 – 20, 2011 at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.

The guests who will be appearing at C2E2 on behalf of Ghost Hunters include Amy Bruni (Investigator), Steve Gonsalves (Investigator/Technical Manager) and Dave Tango (Investigator). An American paranormal reality television series that premiered in 2004 on Syfy, Ghost Hunters is the most recognizable name in the world of paranormal TV and it has garnered some of the highest ratings of any Syfy reality programming. C2E2’s Ghost Hunter guests will appear on panels, conduct free signings with fans, and host additional activities to be announced closer to the convention.

“This is an awesome development and I couldn’t be happier to have some of the Investigators from Ghost Hunters coming to our show,” notes Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President for ReedPOP and Show Manager for C2E2. “This typifies the strength of our programming and it illustrates our intent to reach out to as many people as possible in the pop culture universe. We want to provide something for everyone by putting fans in touch with their favorite creators and artists while also creating new fans for a range of different product.”

Amy Bruni: Amy is a good example of what happens when a hobby, turns into a passion, which in turn becomes a way of life. Like many in the paranormal field, Bruni grew up in a haunted house. Yet, unlike most in that situation, Amy’s family embraced it. Amy’s father was an amateur paranormal investigator and routinely, they would investigate haunted sites. At a young age, Amy was reading and absorbing everything paranormal related she could get her hands on—and as she grew to adulthood, that didn’t change. Amy Bruni’s first investigative job was with a paranormal team in Sacramento, California. And eventually her lifetime of supernatural knowledge drew the attention of Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of The Atlantic Paranormal Society and the Syfy Channel series, “Ghost Hunters.” Amy then began helping them with various TAPS activities and shortly thereafter, she helped form the first ever TAPS satellite team, TAPS West. During the Season 4 run to California, Jason and Grant recruited Amy to be part of the TAPS home team on the East Coast and now she travels with the show full time as a core team member.

Steve Gonsalves: Steve is the TAPS technology manager and an evidence analyst. He is also responsible for training all the members on how to use and maintain all of the high-tech equipment that is involved in each ghost hunt. Steve has many phobias that are hard to hide with spiders and flying as being some of them, so the team is happy to have him drive the equipment to the sites. Luckily for everyone a fear of ghosts is not one of them. Steve has been a public speaker and an educator on the subject of paranormal phenomena for more then ten years now and very much enjoys it. He is also the co-founder and a frequent contributor to the TAPS monthly publication, Paramagazine. Along with the Lead for Ghost Hunters Academy, and has made appearances on Syfy’s Destination Truth.

Dave Tango: Dave started out on season two of the Ghost Hunters and has grown to be a very well known and liked investigative member of he TAPS family. He is also the Lead on Ghost Hunters Academy and has made appearances on Syfy’s Destination Truth. Dave enjoys photography, art, working out, and creating music. Before getting involved with TAPS Dave used to perform professional magic shows for children and adults alike. He still has a very fond interest in the world of illusions and performing magic.
