tone-rtf-print-779x1024Although there will be a lot of attention given to Iron Man 3, Free Comic Book Day and Star Wars Day a dark horse favorite to foster the most geek fun the weekend of May 4th and 5th is Robo Toy Fest and Brick Boutique in Pasadena, CA at the Pasadena Convention Center. Although its a crowded weekend, what’s more fun than a con? Well, Scott Zillner and friends answer that question: two cons. That’s right, this bi-annual show hosts two distinctly different cons under the same roof although fans love them both.

Robo Toy Fest is a show as good as its title. For all those lovers of robot toys, this is your destination. Vendors from all around California will gather to give attendees the very best in robot toys from the past, present…and maybe even the future (crazier things have happened). Meanwhile, Brick Boutique will open its Lego-fabricated doors to building enthusiasts of all ages. Looking for rare retired Lego sets? Interested in original Lego art? Whatever your interest in the Lego arena, you can be sure that Brick Boutique will have you covered.

Vendors aside, here are some details as to what you can expect at the two shows:

-Guest artists Tsuyoshi Nonaka, Tone Rodriguez and Mr. Toast will all be on-hand

-Free limited art print by Tone Rodriguez

-Large play area for kids with famous “You Build It, You Keep It” building block area!

-TMNT Turtle Van on location!

-Hourly Door Prizes

The show is sure to be crowded, so plan to arrive early for the best products. Admission is free after 10am, but there is also an early bird pass starting at 9am for only $5.00 for those that want to make sure to have the best selection. Additionally, there will be gift bags for adults and kids while they last!
