In what Im sure will have indie promoters everywhere crying, Wizard has enlisted Creation for their conventions to give you a ‘better’ experience. Namely charging you more for closer seats in the q and a’s and oppurtunities to purchase pictures with celebrities. Creation has for the past decade been the only major supplier of hollywood/media cons across the country where your admission fee is only the beginning. Most of the shows are geared towards purchasing your autographs from your favorite celebrity and standing in line waiting to do so. I much prefer just listening to their q and a’s, which you get more of at local conventions. Wizard has been adding more of a media presence to their shows, moving the comics down just a bit in an effort to grab more attendees. In that way I guess the move makes sense

By Petrea Mitchell| July 15, 2010 | Comments Off on Special notice for vuvuzela lovers
After the South African World Cup noisemakers were spotted (and heard) at Anime Expo, Otakon took the unusual step of posting a special no-vuvuzelas notice on its front page. Many other conventions would like to remind prospective attendees that vuvuzelas are covered by existing con and/or hotel policies about excessive noise. This does include electronic emulators such as iPhone apps. Please be considerate toward your fellow fans. Thank you.
