New Anime Convention to Be Held in Chattanooga, TN
CHATTANOOGA, TN – March 30, 2011 – Anime Blast Chattanooga makes its debut this year on Nov. 4-
6, 2011 at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Chattanooga, TN. Pre-registration for the entire weekend
is $25 until April 24th. After that, attendees can pre-register for $30. A VIP package is also offered in
limited quantities for $50. Details on the VIP package, as well as the registration form, can be found at

NASHVILLE, TN – MTAC is welcoming a plethora of voice actor guests to this year’s Easter event – MTAC Goes To 11!
Robert Axelrod – Robert is the voice of Lord Zedd and Finster on the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. The Lord Zedd voice is one of the most recognizable character voices around. He voiced Armadillomon and Wizardmon on “Digimon, Microchip, The Punisher’s sidekick, on “Spider-Man”, Rico on “Robotech”, and has voiced countless Anime features including “Akira”, “The Big O”, “Cowboy Bebop”, “Brain Scratch”, et al. He was a regular character on Saban Entertainment’s “Wowser” series (as Ratso Catso), “Journey To The Heart of the World” (as Scarface), “Hallo Spencer” (as Elmer), and more. He just finished narrating the mockumentary “Safety First: The Rise of Women” and voicing four Anime series: “Gaiking”, “Danguard Ace”, “Captain Horlock”, “The Adventures of Nadja”, and “Fist of the North Star”.

Christopher Allen Lloyd is an American actor. He is best known for playing Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, Uncle Fester in The Addams Family films, and Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He played Reverend Jim Ignatowski in the television series Taxi and most recently Mr. Goodman in Piranha 3D. He also starred in the short-lived television series Deadly Games, and also was a regular in the short-lived TV series Stacked, in the mid-2000s. Lloyd has used his vocal talents in animation, frequently voicing villains. He currently voices the character Hacker on the animated PBS series Cyberchase. Lloyd has won three Primetime Emmy Awards and an Independent Spirit Award, and has been nominated for two Saturn Awards and a Daytime Emmy Award.

“Just to let you all know of some new developments for Odyssey Con 11:
Saturday in the Art Show there will be a sock puppet making demonstration. Donating clean socks (OK if they have holes) and other materials would be appreciated.
Friday night is the SF Poetry Slam. Cash prizes of $30/20/10 will be awarded to the 1st/2nd/3rd place winners.
The only time Rock Band will be available is Friday night in the Main programming room after the Poetry Slam (and some set up time). Read more

Overland Park, Kans. – Convention officials today announced that Naka-Kon will be held Feb. 10 – 12, 2012 at the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Hotel rooms will be available at the Sheraton Overland Park and will cost attendees $109 plus tax and fees per night for up to four occupants.
The announcement was made to several fans of Naka-Kon through the convention’s Facebook page, Twitter page, and official forums.
More information about the convention will be released as it becomes available.

Appearing at the convention as guests of honor will be anime anthropologist Charles Dunbar, science fiction authors Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, creator of Billy vs Snakeman, Luke “McMasters” Morgan, the Vice President of the New England Chapter of the International Costumers’ Guild, Elizabeth O’Malley, cosplayer and prop maker Robert “Sketch” Scholz, and the web series production crew The Entertainment Experiment, creators of Ragged Isle.
Charles Dunbar (also known by his internet handle “Anime Anthropologist”) is a graduate of Hunter College of the City University of New York, where he received his BA in Anthropology and Religion in 2004, and an MA in Sociocultural Anthropology in 2010. His fieldwork of the past 2 years has revolved around anime convention participation, including perceptions, misconceptions, stereotyping, spending habits and convention culture.
