NADWCON 2011 OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
By Shawn Scott Smith| October 6, 2010 | Comments Off
The below is a repost of the NADWCON email newsletter. The convention takes place July 8th-11th, 2011 in Madison, WI Check the website for more info.
Greetings!
As summer fades into autumn, our work on the 2011 North American Discworld Convention is heating up. If you’ve visited our website (www.nadwcon.org), you’ve probably seen some new things there. We would also like to announce that we have found our Granny Weatherwax, are looking for someone to fit into a certain golden suit, and so much else. Read on to learn more.
Interviews
Our intrepid Co-Guest Liaison and Convention Advisor – Emily S. Whitten, Esq. — snagged interviews with several members of the Discworld family. Right now you can find interviews with Stephen Briggs and Colin Smythe at the 2010 convention in England, on the main page of our website for your listening pleasure with more to come.
I can own Angua’s WHAT!?
Emily was also resourceful (or sneaky) enough to get several charity items from Sir Terry and The Mob Film Co. during the convention. Many of the items are from the Going Postal movie, this includes props, bits of scenery and even the costume of a certain morphologically challenged member of the the city watch! It is still early and we plan on getting a lot more for the auction, but this is a very encouraging start.

By Shawn Scott Smith| October 2, 2010 | Comments Off
YOUR HIGHNESS ARE COMING TO NEW YORK COMIC CON
Stars, Filmmakers and Scavenger Hunts Only on October 8 and 9!
WHAT: Talent and more from Universal Pictures’ The Thing and Your Highness at New York Comic Con. Exclusive footage from the films will be shown.
Universal presents the cast and filmmakers from its upcoming thriller The Thing. In the film that serves as a prelude to John Carpenter’s classic 1982 thriller of the same name, paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they’re infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet.
Join the stars and filmmakers of Your Highness for a fantastical discussion about an epic comedy adventure from the director of Pineapple Express. In the film from David Gordon Green, Danny McBride and James Franco star as two princes on a daring mission to rescue the heir apparent’s fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed.
